"Men aren't scared of me anymore." Jessie J said.

"I think I looked scary around the time of 'Do It Like A Dude' but I think I'm more approachable to men now. I hope so anyway!"

Of her changing life plans, she added: "When I turned 25, something changed in me. I see children in my future 100%. Very soon.

The singer again spoke about her decision to leave The VoiceUK, saying: "They send the schedule through and, for 40 of the 42 days they need me for filming, I was on tour.

"I had to think about what I was prioritising - my music or The Voice? I wouldn't be on that show if it wasn't for the music. I have to get back to the core of who I am."

Lady Gaga's new single 'Applause': What are you expecting?

For those who have missed the sudden slurry of teasers and promotional shots this week, Lady Gaga has a new single coming out very soon

So far, the details of it extend as far as the title - 'Applause' - and its release date of August 19, the same day her third album ARTPOP becomes available for pre-order.

Gaga has also released some brilliant artwork for the single, depicting her as Pierrot - the stock jester character from old Italian theatre.

But what are           you hoping for/expecting from 'Applause'? We've posted our thoughts below.

  • First things first, let's take what we can from the artwork. If we're going to judge the song by its cover - and in today's recession-busting world we really shouldn't but in this case we can't help it - 'Applause' will be a fun and classy if not slightly creepy affair. Also, nothing says effortless like a scribbly font, right?

  • No elaborate backstory or overly philosophical meaning. What made 'Born This Way' (the song) so great was its simplicity, but the confusing backstory about a government-owned alien territory wasn't really to our liking. We're all for a bit of flamboyance, but don't let it overshadow the song.

  • Lots of BPM. Almost two years after her last single 'Marry The Night', we're not here for a ballad.

  • But nothing too fast. We know electronic dance music is the current 'thing' in America that hasn't quite reached the charts, but the rest of the world has been there and done it already.

  • No monsterisms. We know Gaga kick-started the whole idea of giving your fans a collective name, but now we've reached the point of Misha B's 'Aliens' and Nina Nesbitt's 'Nesbians', it's time to move on.

  • Basically, a good old-fashioned pop song would be great. You won't hear us complaining if she returns with a 'Bad Romance' part II, or that elusive sequel to 'Telephone'.

  • Lady Gaga officially releases 'Applause' on August 19, so we'll all be able to hear it in full then. Unless it pops up online early, as these things have a habit of doing sometimes.

    Miley Cyrus, why?

GWe're just going to come out and say it: we love Miley Cyrus. Why? Because since unveiling her feisty, post-Disney image and new single, she's become one of the few popstars out there unafraid of a bit of controversy. In the last fortnight alone, she's twerked her way into the hearts of the hip-hop crowd, advised Justin Bieber to take a break from the spotlight and shown off her new collection of mouth jewelry

Of course, her new carefree way of living is neatly summed up in 'We Can't Stop', which is essentially Katy Perry's 'Last Friday Night' with teeth. "To my home girls here with the big butt/ Shaking it like we at a strip club," she sings over fuzzy bass and sparse piano thuds, before declaring: "We like to party/ Dancing with Miley." And if we're to believe her latest revelation, things are only going to get rowdier from here.
